MANCHESTER, N.H. — Associated Grocers of New England said Friday that Robert Heath is retiring from cooperative wholesaler’s board of directors after 32 years. He was chairman of the board from 1990-2006.
“During those years, AG New England enjoyed its most dynamic growth and accomplishment,” said Thomas Bradbury, the current chairman. “Bob took an active role, providing wisdom, guidance and inspiration that helped lead the way to some significant milestones.”
Heath has owned and operated a community market whose roots date to 1945 when his father opened a small general store. When he took the reins of the company, EM Heath and Sons comprised a community supermarket and hardware store in Centre Harbor, N.H., as well as a shopping plaza in a neighboring town.
