WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — Hy-Vee shoppers with the best duct tape creation can win $500, plus a trip for two to Cleveland for the annual Avon Heritage Duct Tape Festival.
To enter, they must create an original, homemade, spring-related item using duct tape as the primary building material. They then must take a photo of the creation and upload to the hy-vee.com website, where they are put up for public vote.
Among the current entries: a mallard, a rose and a child’s dress and matching purse. Entries will be accepted through April 26.
In addition to the trip to the duct tape festival June 17-19, the winner will get two tickets and one parking pass to a Major League Baseball game in Cleveland on June 17; accommodations in a double occupancy hotel room in the Cleveland area for three nights beginning June 16; entry to the 8th Annual Avon Heritage Duct Tape Festival; and a duct tape prize pack.
