ABINGDON, Va. — K-VA-T Food Stores is using a Memorial Day-themed texting promotion to engage smart phone shoppers.
All those who text "picnic" to 55678 will automatically gain one electronic entry for a chance to win food and supplies for a Memorial Day party.
The winner will get two folding sports chairs, a Coleman cooler filled with Memorial Day supplies and a $50 Food City gift card.
"Memorial Day is taken care of," K-VA-T says in promotional materials at foodcity.com. "Text us and win." The promotion runs through May 23.
