Kroger, Nestlé Purina Sponsor Pet Contest, Program

The Kroger Co. has teamed with Nestlé Purina to sponsor a national contest and television special that will focus on the ways people and pets improve each other’s quality of life

CINCINNATI — The Kroger Co. here has teamed with Nestlé Purina to sponsor a national contest and television special that will focus on the ways people and pets improve each other’s quality of life. Shoppers can enter the “Four Plus Two: Tales for the Pet Lover’s Heart Photo-Essay Contest” by visiting www.purina.com and clicking on the “coupons and offers” tab. Entrants are required to submit a photo and a 250-words or less story that describes how they and their pet make life easier for one another. The winner will be determined based on the overall emotional appeal, originality and creativity of the photo and essay and quality of the photo. The grand-prize winner will receive a year’s supply of Purina Cat Chow or Purina Dog Chow along with a portrait of pet and owner created by renowned artist C.F. Payne. Two first-prize winners will receive a year’s supply of pet food from Purina. The winners will be announced in conjunction with the national premiere of “Four Plus Two: Tales for the Pet Lover’s Heart,” a documentary that’s scheduled to air Oct. 25. Kroger will support the contest and television program with in-store promotions.
