Levee Appointed FMI Food Safety Director

ARLINGTON, Va. — Terry Levee has been named director of the Food Marketing Institute’s food safety programs. He’ll be responsible for developing and implementing initiatives to help retailers meet critical food safety needs.

ARLINGTON, Va. — Terry Levee has been named director of the Food Marketing Institute’s food safety programs. He’ll be responsible for developing and implementing initiatives to help retailers meet critical food safety needs.

Levee's food safety experience includes roles with Giant Food/Ahold USA and Winn-Dixie Stores. At Giant, he monitored companywide food safety performance to ensure all practices met Ahold, Giant, local, state, county and federal food safety standards and regulations. Prior to working at Giant, Levee served 19 years at Winn-Dixie, as its technical, scientific and regulatory expert for all food safety and retail quality assurance issues and programs.

“In addition to Terry’s 25 years of service in the food safety and quality assurance sector, he was also an active member of FMI’s Food Protection Committee,” said Leslie G. Sarasin, president and chief executive officer at FMI, in a statement. “He will help ensure our food safety efforts have a practical grounding of utmost importance to our members.”
