WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Lowes Foods is hosting pet adoption fairs at select stores this month as part of its continued support of local humane societies.

“Please come out to your local store and help Lowes Foods find homes for sheltered animals in your area,” Lowes writes in promotional materials.

This Saturday, fairs will be held at about 10 stores in Clemmons, Greensboro, Raleigh, Charlotte and Wilmington, N.C. A full list of participating stores is posted at lowesfoods.com.

Additionally, for the month of July, 1% of all Paws-brand product sales will go to the purchase of products for local humane societies in Charlotte, Raleigh, Winston-Salem and Wilmington.

Marketed as a national-brand equivalent, Paws Premium is a Topco Associates brand that includes 35 varieties of dry and wet food, as well as treats, toys and accessories.

The promotion follows a similar one held in May, when 1% of all Paws Premium private-label pet product sales in Lowes Foods stores were donated to humane societies.

Additionally, Lowes donated $2 to local humane societies for each new fan who joined its Facebook page for a one-month period ending June 7. Lowes gained 442 fans during the campaign, generating $884 for humane societies.
