EDINA, Minn. — Lund Food Holdings has introduced a new line of “chef-crafted,” better-for-you frozen entrees.
Marketed under the Lunds & Byerly’s brand, all products in the line must meet the following nutritional standards:
• No artificial flavors, colors or sweeteners
• No preservatives
• No hydrogenated oils
• No high fructose corn syrup
• Made with wholesome grains
• No more than 600mg sodium
• No more than 25g fat
• No more than 600 calories
“We created meals with a good balance of proteins, carbs, and fats,” Peter Kuhr, Lund's product development manager, wrote on the retailer’s blog. “Instead of adding in excess amounts of sodium and fats, we added in flavorful spices, tantalizing light sauces, and scrumptious, fresh ingredients.“
The line currently features 13 products, including Santa Fe Rice & Beans; Sherried Chicken & Rice; Spiced Shrimp & Polenta; Red Wine Braised Beef & Rice; and Vegetable Macaroni & Cheese.
