NEDERLAND, Texas — Market Basket Stores here, with 30 grocery stores in southeastern Texas and southwestern Louisiana, has selected JDA Software Group’s Workforce Management system to reduce its labor costs.
“Labor is 65% of our controllable expense,” said Russell Saleme, employment and training coordinator, Market Basket Stores, in a statement. “Keeping that in mind, we knew we needed to update our current system to a more user-friendly, Web-based format.”
By using the system, he added, “We expect to further enhance our operational performance, employee satisfaction and overall customer satisfaction.”
The chain has begun implementing the system in a pilot store and plans to go live in February.
