MONTREAL — Metro has selected Sweda, Toronto, and its latest point-of-sale application, SwedaMart, for its grocery stores.
Starting with a pilot installation a year ago, Metro has converted many of its Metro and Super C stores; all the remaining stores in Québec will be fully converted before the end of fiscal 2009.
"Sweda has provided us with a smooth migration with no disruption to our operation,” said Jacques Couture, vice president, Information Systems for Metro.
Using open-standards hardware, SwedaMart is operating-system-independent POS solution and includes a promotion module that can for implementing loyalty strategies and promotional pricing programs
Metro operates close to 600 food stores under several banners, including Metro, Metro Plus, Super C and Food Basics.
