SAN JOSE, Calif. — Mi Pueblo Food Centers here, which operates 13 stores across Northern California, has completed an upgrade to version 6.1 of the Workforce Central Suite, from Kronos, Chelmsford, Mass.

The new version is designed to help Mi Pueblo balance labor costs, variable staffing needs, and complex labor laws, said Kronos. Mi Pueblo, an existing user of Kronos' time-and attendance and labor scheduling systems, will use the technology to "transform enterprise data into high-quality information for effective decision making," said Kronos.

Additionally, managers will be able to analyze sales-per-labor-hour through a Microsoft Excel integration. Workforce Central 6.1 will also help Mi Pueblo simplify compensation planning, performance reviews, and employee training and development.

"At a time when we are rapidly expanding, it is a big bonus to have our critical workforce business processes completely automated and optimized," said Hector Salas, vice president of human resource for Mi Pueblo. "With the new version, we are looking forward to further improving productivity, customer service, and employee satisfaction."
