Richmond, Va. — Mid-Atlantic Convenience Stores said Wednesday that it has acquired 58 convenience stores and fuel stations in Northern Virginia and Maryland from ExxonMobil Corp. Terms were not disclosed.
MACS, an investment platform backed by Catterton Partners, was created to consolidate the highly fragmented convenience store industry. The group in June acquired a majority interest in Uppy’s Convenience Stores and 170 convenience stores from ExxonMobil in Maryland, Virginia and Delaware. With the addition of the sites announced Wednesday, MACS now has nearly 300 c-stores in the Mid-Atlantic states.
