NEW Names Gloeckler President

CHICAGO — Michelle Gloeckler, senior vice president of merchandise execution for Wal-Mart, has been named president of the Network of Executive Women, whose mission is to attract, retain and advance women in the consumer products and retail industry through education, leadership and business development.

CHICAGO — Michelle Gloeckler, senior vice president of merchandise execution for Wal-Mart, has been named president of the Network of Executive Women, whose mission is to attract, retain and advance women in the consumer products and retail industry through education, leadership and business development. She's been elected to serve a one-year term.

Gloeckler joined Wal-Mart last year with more than 20 years' experience in the confectionery industry. She previously worked at the Hershey Co., serving as vice president of sales for strategic customers, responsible for more than $1 billion in the mass, drug and club channels.

“Michelle Gloeckler has experience as a senior leader on both the retail and supply side of the industry,” said Joan Toth, executive director of NEW, in a statement. “Her passion and enthusiasm for developing women leaders, strong history of achievement in the area of diversity and inclusion and keen dedication to our mission are all qualities we sought when choosing who will take our organization to the next level. We're excited to have her as our leader.”
