ARLINGTON, Va. — The National Grocers Association here said Friday that its inaugural NGA Sales, Operations and Profitability Conference scheduled at the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs Aug. 20-21 has been postponed indefinitely.

"While we have received very positive feedback about the conference program, we were also hearing from members about late summer vacation plans, difficulty justifying travel to Colorado Springs for a day and a half event and several business-related conflicts that were limiting our ability to meet the minimum attendance threshold required for us to conduct the event," said Peter Larkin, NGA president and chief executive officer.

The NGA board of directors remains scheduled to meet in Colorado Springs as planned, and will discuss future options for the Sales, Operations and Profitability Conference. It could be rescheduled as a standalone event later in the year, or folded into the 2012 NGA Show in Las Vegas Feb. 12-15, NGA said.
