Peapod Debuts iPad App

Online grocer Peapod, a division of Ahold USA, has developed a free iPad app to give tablet users a more convenient way to grocery shop.

SKOKIE, Ill. — Online grocer Peapod, a division of Ahold USA, has developed a free iPad app to give tablet users a more convenient way to grocery shop. The new app builds on PeapodMobile, which allows customers to create and manage shopping lists and place grocery orders from their smart phones.

The iPad app includes a search feature (by words or UPC), weekly specials, personal lists, a list of past purchases on sale this week and the ability to view items in a list or grid format.

"We are excited to expand our technology to the tablet platform," said Thomas Parkinson, chief technology officer for Peapod, in a statement. "Our customers are tech-savvy and demand engaging and well-made solutions to simplify their lives. We think the Peapod iPad app will satisfy that need."
