SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — Price Chopper officials last week officially dedicated its new headquarters building, saying the new facility represented a renaissance of downtown Schenectady and demonstrated the retailer’s commitment to sustainability.

The six-story, 240,000-square-foot building houses more than 725 employees representing all of Price Chopper’s operations except distribution, which remains in its former facility in nearby Rotterdam, N.Y.

The new building is designed to save energy, promote water efficiency and reduce emissions. Price Chopper has made an application to the U.S. Green Building Council for the building to be recognized with Gold level LEED certification.
