Price Chopper Launches 1.8 million Meals Drive

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Price Chopper here pledged Thursday 1.8 million meals for its annual 12 month CHOP Hunger drive.

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Price Chopper here pledged Thursday 1.8 million meals for its annual 12 month CHOP Hunger drive.

The CHOP Hunger program was launched in 2009 to help commemorate Price Chopper’s 30th anniversary year. Since then the local hunger drive has become a major part of the retailer’s annual anniversary celebrations.

To date Price Chopper has collected enough food and raised funds to provide three million meals during 2009 and 2010 to Harvesters — The Community Food Network, which won Feeding America’s 2011 food bank of the year award.
