WATERTOWN, Ohio — Kroger laid off 93 part-time pharmacists at stores in the Columbus division here, according to a report in The Columbus Dispatch.
The layoffs were attributed to the struggling economy and increased competition. Amy McCormick, a Kroger spokeswoman, said there were 340 full-time pharmacists servicing the Columbus market and the part-time workers were laid off with the possibility of being called back to work.
McCormick could not be reached for further comment.
