NEW YORK — A Stop & Shop store funded in part by federal stimulus money will be opening this week in the Rockaway Beach section of Queens.
The $23 million supermarket, an anchor in a new mixed-use community built on long-vacant land in the Rockaway Beach area, was financed in part with $5.5 million in tax-exempt bonds made available though the federal stimulus program, its developers said.
