MILWAUKEE — Roundy's Supermarkets has decided to upgrade its shelf tag system with Grandville Printing Company’s Nexgen program that digitally print in-store shelf tags and price signs weekly.
The program, which delivers shelf edge tags and price signs, bursted and boxed in planogram order by aisle for each individual store, is designed to increase the efficiency of store-level pricing execution, said Jason Benish, Roundy's vice president of pricing and strategic initiatives, in a press statement.
Roundy's started working with Grandville, based in West Michigan, in April 2010 by piloting the Nexgen program in four of its stores. The retailer recently signed a three-year contract with Grandville to deploy the system to its 155 stores. Roundy's tags are now centrally printed using HP Indigo digital presses.
Roundy's pricing and marketing departments have the ability to make changes faster and benefit from relevant messaging to consumers at the shelf.
