Russ’s Market, Brookshire, Kroger Store Managers Win FMI's Grand Prize

LAS VEGAS — Food Marketing Institute announced the winners of its 11th annual Store Manager Awards Competition Wednesday morning at the FMI 2010 Show.

LAS VEGAS — Food Marketing Institute announced the winners of its 11th annual Store Manager Awards Competition Wednesday morning at the FMI 2010 Show.

Winners were chosen in three categories: category A, 1-49 stores; category B, 50-199 stores and category C, 200 or more stores.

Winners were: category A — Dave McCleery, store director, Russ’s Market, Lincoln, Neb.; category B — Sharon Boyett, store director, Brookshire Grocery Co., Monroe, La.; and category C — Molly Stiles, store manager, Kroger Co., Farragut, Tenn.

FMI received over 150 submissions for this year’s competition. Winners were judged on their ability to develop programs that created positive growth and customers satisfaction in their stores during the past 12-18 months. Each winner received a $1,000 check.

Following the awards ceremony, winners participated in a panel discussion moderated by Wendy Kennedy, vice president, corporate communications and public affairs, Save Mart Supermarkets on execution of various store strategies including in-store promotions, community outreach and employee mentoring.
