OAKLAND, Calif. -- Janitors who clean Safeway supermarkets in Northern California reached a tentative agreement on a new contract Friday and canceled the strike vote that had been scheduled for Saturday.
SEIU United Service Workers West Local 1877 here said it reached the agreement with Safeway’s janitorial service contractors ABM, Crystal, Premier, and AMS. Details of the new contract were not immediately available.
