PLEASANTON, Calif. — Safeway is getting a jumpstart on the flu season with a promotion that awards 10% off groceries to those who get a flu shot at a Safeway pharmacy.
All Safeway pharmacies have the seasonal flu shots available and are offering the vaccine beginning mid-September on a walk-in basis. Prescriptions are required for Arizona residents.
“It seems crazy to have to start thinking about the flu shot so early but experts agree that you’re better off if you’re vaccinated before the height of flu season,” the Safeway blog reads.
Those who get a shot will receive a voucher for 10% off their next grocery purchase (must be used within seven days of issue) along with several high-value “Super Price Coupons” for facial tissue, hand sanitizer and related items, according to the blog.
Shots cost $30 without insurance.
