BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Sam’s Club has teamed with Dallas-based U.S. Preventive Medicine to offer its personalized health management program for $99 per annual subscription.

The program is geared toward Sam’s Club’s small business owner members who don’t offer their employees health insurance. “Only 15% of companies with less than 100 employees have a comprehensive wellness program in place,” Jeff Ridgway, regional vice president of sales for U.S. Preventive Medicine, told SN.

Once enrolled in the Prevention Plan, members complete an online health assessment and at-home blood test to identify their individual health issues. Their responses, along with lab results for cholesterol, fasting blood sugar and hemoglobin levels, are used to design a personalized preventive plan addressing fitness, nutrition and overall well-being. Personal health coaching, plan-wide health challenges and prizes are used to keep members active in the online program.

In the future, results from health screenings offered at Sam’s Club locations may also be used to inform an individual’s plan, according to Ridgway. Free blood pressure checkups, bone density scans, body mass index assessments, cholesterol and glucose tests, and hearing and vision screenings are planned.
