MODESTO, Calif. — Customers at Save Mart Supermarkets and its Lucky subsidiary in Northern California and Northern Nevada will have an opportunity to have their photo taken with a giant motorized shopping cart and view a Kingsford NASCAR race car between June 10 and June 20 at selected store locations.
The photo ops are part of the publicity campaign for the Toyota/Save Mart 350 NASCAR race scheduled for June 19-20 at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, Calif.
The giant cart — 13 feet tall, 8.5 feet wide and 15 feet long, with the capacity to hold 360 grocery bags or between 12 and 15 adults, powered by a 454-cubic-inch Chevy V8 engine with more than 600 horsepower — is scheduled to take a lap prior to the race.
