MODESTO, Calif. — Save Mart and Lucky Supermarkets here said they planned to resume SuperProduce Story Time at their stores in northern California and northern Nevada on Saturday, July 11.
The event, in its third year, is a weekly nutrition education program held every Saturday morning through Aug. 29 at the stores' produce departments in which stories help children discover the flavor and excitement of fresh fruits and vegetables, the company said.
“Every story we tell during these sessions broadens the children's food horizons,” Sharon Blakely, nutrition supervisor for Save Mart, said.” The stories, read by a SuperFriend, allow children to sample healthy snacks. “Our SuperFriends make it fun to learn about good nutrition,” Blakely added.
