MODESTO, Calif. — Save Mart Supermarkets here contracted with Reston, Va.-based Mirixa Corp., a healthcare technology provider, to provide a web-based clinical application for the delivery of medication therapy management services as part of the company's employee health and wellness initiative. The company has approximately 19,000 employees.
The application, MirixaEdge, will be deployed to Save Mart's 115 in-store pharmacies.
"We want to empower our employees and actively engage them in the management of their health and wellness. MirixaEdge will enable our pharmacists to consult directly with employees and to help them to understand why they are prescribed specific medications and why they should take the medications as prescribed," explained Michele Snider, Save Mart's executive director of pharmacy, in a prepared statement.
Employees of all ages and with any medical condition may take advantage of these services. A patient medication record is created and can be shared with family members, physicians and other health care providers, as identified by the patient.
Save Mart operates 244 stores under the Save Mart, S-Mart Foods, Lucky and FoodMaxx banners in Northern California and Northern Nevada.
