ShopRite Chefs on Call This Thanksgiving

ShopRite’s “Chefs on Call” service is back again this year to assist home cooks with advice, recipes and tips for preparing the perfect Thanksgiving meal.

KEASBEY, N.J. — ShopRite’s “Chefs on Call” service is back again this year to assist home cooks with advice, recipes and tips for preparing the perfect Thanksgiving meal.

“It was a big success in its first year with between 350 and 400 calls,” spokeswoman Elisabeth Loeb told SN. The most popular inquiries pertained to gravy preparation, the best apples for pie and how to brine, she said.

Shoppers can call 1-800-ShopRite and reach a chef on call on Sunday and Monday from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm, Tuesday and Wednesday from noon to 6pm and on Thanksgiving day from 8am to 2pm.

Between two and 18 chefs who teach the ShopRite Culinary Workshop in-store cooking classes, will man the phones during those times. In addition, all of ShopRite’s call service representatives have been trained to answer basic questions about thawing and roasting times.

The service is advertised in sales circulars and online, and callers who provide an email address will receive Culinary Workshop holiday recipes.
