NEW YORK — SN and food industry analyst Phil Lempert, also known as the "Supermarket Guru," have formed a content partnership that will deepen and expand the levels of information and analysis available to the supermarket industry.
Under this arrangement, which begins today, Lempert, chief executive officer of The Lempert Report and SupermarketGuru.com, will become contributing editor of SN, which will exclusively run his columns both in its magazine and on its website. Moreover, SN will publish consumer surveys based on responses from the extensive SupermarketGuru.com consumer panel.
SN's website will also showcase The Lempert Report and New Products Hits and Misses video reports that analyze new consumer products and industry trends. Meanwhile, the SupermarketGuru.com website and videos will incorporate Supermarket News content relevant to its users.
"This is a very exciting initiative for the Supermarket News brand," said Jerry Rymont, SN's publisher and vice president of the Penton Food Group. Penton Media is the parent company of Supermarket News. "Phil is a highly regarded and innovative analyst. The combination of his insights about consumer trends and SN's leading coverage of the supermarket industry will greatly enhance what we bring to our audiences."
"I'm excited to work with such a strong media partner and leading B2B food industry resource," said Lempert. "Our collaboration will provide the industry and consumers alike the most updated and informative news and analysis in print and online. We will become the 'go to' resource for anyone interested in the business of food."
SupermarketGuru.com is a leading online consumer resource for food safety, products, trends and shopping tips. Recently, Lempert launched Koodies.net, a food-focused social network for kids, promoting cooking, culinary tips and healthy choices with children and parents.
Lempert is a distinguished author and speaker on topics including consumer behavior, marketing trends, new products and the changing retail landscape.
