SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. — Stater Bros. Markets here said it will donate $716,400 to California state parks, beaches and other natural areas through its Preserve Our Parks campaign in partnership with Coca-Cola.
The retailer said the public-private partnership reflects "one solution" as the state plans to shutter 70 state parks in a cost-reducing effort.
Stater Bros. said it would make the donation at a special ceremony July 14 at California Citrus State Historic Park in Riverside. In the past three years, Stater Bros. and Coca-Cola have teamed to raise "close to $2 million" to help with reforestation, coastal clean-up efforts and habitat and trail preservation.
