QUINCY, Mass. — Stop & Shop here is now using the Modiv Shopper personal shopping solution, a handheld scanning and promotion device for consumers, in 250 Stop & Shop and Giant Food stores, up from 145 in January.
Branded as “Scan It!” at Stop & Shop and Giant supermarkets, the Modiv Shopper, powered by Motorola’s MC17 mobile computer running software from Modiv Media here, delivers relevant coupons and promotions based on individual shopping histories, and enables customers to scan and bag their items while they shop. Nearly one million shopping trips are now completed each month using the device at Stop & Shop and Giant stores, and more than 50 brands have run paid campaigns through the device.
“Scan It! allows Stop & Shop to differentiate itself from the competition, by producing a superior shopping experience that results in increased savings for our customers,” said Bob Anderson, director of customer relationship management at Stop & Shop, in a statement.
Separately, Modiv Media reported that last month it finished adding a text message alert feature to its Delivision deli ordering system installed in more than 425 Stop & Shop and Giant stores; shoppers can opt to receive a text message when their deli order is ready to be picked up.
