BOULDER, Colo. — Sunflower Farmers Market here said it plans to sell reusable pink grocery bags during October and donate part of the proceeds to Susan G. Komen for the Cure in support of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The specially designed bags will be priced at 99 cents. A total of 130,000 of the limited-edition bags will be available at Sunflower's 27 stores in Colorado, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah and Texas (where the stores are called Newflower Farmers Market).

The company said the stores will also feature specials on dozens of “products with a purpose,” including special pink products. In addition, each store will attempt to educate customers on preventative care, good nutrition and the connection among mind, body and soul. They will also hold events, including barbecues, to help raise additional funds for breast cancer care, the company noted.
