Supervalu ‘Donates’ to Boise University

Supervalu said it would sell one of the headquarters buildings here that it acquired in the 2006 purchase of Albertsons to the Boise State University Foundation at a below-market price, amounting to a gift of “about $3 million,” the company said at its annual meeting yesterday, which it staged here for the first time.

BOISE, Idaho — Supervalu said it would sell one of the headquarters buildings here that it acquired in the 2006 purchase of Albertsons to the Boise State University Foundation at a below-market price, amounting to a gift of “about $3 million,” the company said at its annual meeting yesterday, which it staged here for the first time. “We are excited to be part of that. What a great opportunity,” Jeff Noddle, chairman and chief executive officer of Minneapolis-based Supervalu, told the Idaho Business Review. The company and the university could collaborate on some IT initiatives, he told the publication. Supervalu has consolidated much of the former Albertsons headquarters into Minneapolis, but it still employs about 2,000 in the state, the company said.
