MINNEAPOLIS — Supervalu here said Wednesday it has named J. Andrew Herring executive vice president, market and real estate development.
Herring will oversee store development for the company’s traditional retail and Save-A-Lot stores and for its independent retailers, as well as new store growth. The promotion is effective June 6.
Herring joined Supervalu in 1998 as vice president of corporate development and external relations, was named senior vice president the following year, and in 2002 was named executive vice president of Supervalu retail pharmacies. He played a key role in the acquisition of certain Albertsons assets in 2006, the company said.
