BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Many of Wal-Mart's stores will be without popular magazines as a battle between magazine publishers and wholesalers spills over into the aisles, according to the New York Post.
Anderson News and Source Interlink Cos. have said they will impose on publishers a 7-cent surcharge on each copy they deliver. Publishers have said they won't pay it.
Meanwhile, Folio magazine's online news reported this week said that Anderson and Source had decided to close their wholesale operations, which Source dismissed as a "rumor."
