Target Selects Assortment Optimization Software

MINNEAPOLIS — Target here has selected assortment optimization software service from DemandTec, San Mateo, Calif., to tailor and localize its assortments. Target already uses DemandTec's price optimization software service.

Assortment Optimization software service is designed to optimize assortments by store cluster and fixture size; it was recently upgraded to include macro-space optimization to plan cross-category layouts, as well as embedded shopper insights to understand brand and item preferences by segment.
