ROANOKE, Va. — The pharmacy department of Ukrop’s only supermarket in this city will close on Saturday, a store official said.
Published reports this week said the department was closing because “there were not enough new prescriptions to make it worthwhile.”
The Roanoke store — Ukrop’s first to open outside of its home market in Richmond, Va. — is said to be struggling in part due to slow leasing at the shopping center where it is located.
