RICHMOND, Va. — Ukrop's Super Market has introduced "Ukrop's Bakes," a new line of oven-ready entrees, side dishes and desserts. The new line was launched as part of the company's 20th anniversary of its Central Kitchen and prepared foods program.
"What began in 1989 with our introduction of a line of just ten ready-made, chilled prepared foods has evolved into a product line which today contains over 250 dishes," Bobby Ukrop, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Ukrop's, said in a release. "For two decades now, our customers have relied on Ukrop's to 'do the cooking.' Our new Ukrop's Bakes will ensure that our busy, on-the-go customers, looking for quick and easy meals, will keep coming back for more."
Initially, the new line will include seven entrees, such as sauteed summer squash, baked manicotti and chicken cobbler, as well as desserts such as peach blueberry crisp and White House roll bread pudding. Additional items are scheduled for release throughout the rest of 2009.
