CINCINNATI — As a part of the United Fresh Produce Association's "A Salad Bar in Every School Campaign," Chiquita and United Fresh have helped donate three salad bars to Cincinnati schools, and a fourth salad bar was purchased by Cincinnati Public Schools.

“I love the idea of 'a salad bar in every school,’ and I want to thank Chiquita and United Fresh for helping to make that a reality,” Mary Ronan, superintendent of Cincinnati Public Schools, said in an announcement. “By encouraging our students to make salads for lunch with plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits, we’ll be teaching healthy eating habits that will keep students alert in classes and serve them well all their lives.”

Yesterday, one of the salad bars was given to Cincinnati's Academy of World Languages in a special dedication ceremony attended by Ronan, U.S. Reps. Steve Driehaus, D-Ohio, and Jean Schmidt, R-Ohio, Chiquita Brands Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Fernando Aguirre and United Fresh President and CEO Tom Stenzel.
