LUBBOCK, Texas — Several United Supermarkets and Market Street stores will host “Give a Home for the Holidays” pet adoption events beginning tomorrow.
Shoppers who adopt a dog or cat will receive a $50 United gift card to use toward the purchase of pet supplies.
Animals from the SPCA of Texas will be available for adoption tomorrow at the McKinney Market Street location from 11am to 4pm, while animals from the Humane Society of Wichita Falls will be on hand at the Wichita Falls Market Street store from 10am to 2pm.
United’s Lubbock, Amarillo and Abilene locations will host "Give a Home for the Holidays" events on November 21.
United will also support pets who aren't adopted by donating $100,000 worth of Hartz-brand pet products to five area shelters.
“With the holidays approaching, Hartz provided us with the perfect opportunity to reach out to local animal shelters, donate thousands of pet products and serve as an outlet for matching loving animals to loving homes,” said Shannon Swatzell, community relations manager for United, in a statement.
