SAN JOSE, Calif. - VeriFone Systems here, a major supplier of transaction payment terminals to food retailers, announced it has acquired Global Bay Mobile Technologies, a provider of mobile retail solutions.
VeriFone said the acquisition is the latest development in its strategy to bring mobile platforms into retail and payments. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Global Bay has worked with retailers across North America, Europe and Asia on mobile applications that leverage existing POS, e-commerce, and traditional store systems.
