Wal-Mart to Cut Corporate Jobs: Report

BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Wal-Mart Stores reportedly plans to eliminate 700 to 800 jobs at its headquarters here.

Reports Tuesday quoted a company spokesman saying the jobs would mainly be in marketing, real estate and support functions. Certain jobs will also be moved to new offices, Bloomberg reported. The cuts would total about 5% of its workforce at headquarters, reports added.

Wal-Mart was not immediately available for comment.
