Wal-Mart Names Solarzano Latin America CEO

Wal-Mart Stores said it had named Eduardo Solorzano executive vice president of the company and chief executive officer of Wal-Mart Latin America.

BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Wal-Mart Stores on Friday said it had named Eduardo Solorzano executive vice president of the company and chief executive officer of Wal-Mart Latin America.

Solarzano, who was serving as CEO of Wal-Mart de Mexico, was named chairman of the Mexico division, and Scot Rank, its executive vice president and chief operating officer, was promoted to the CEO role.

Solarzano will be based at Wal-Mart's Latin American headquarters in Miami. His new role begins Jan. 18.

Craig Herkert, now the CEO of Supervalu, Minneapolis, had been running Wal-Mart's Latin American operations before joining Supervalu in May.
