NEW CANAAN, Conn. — Wal-Mart Stores is regaining a price edge on rival Target, according to a survey from Customer Growth Partners here. CGP’s analysis of prices on a similar basket of 58 items including back-to-school goods and groceries in four states during late July and early August indicated Wal-Mart had a 2.4% edge, in contrast to a 0.6% edge Target had in the first three months of the year.
