ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The latest version of Wegmans Food Markets' iPhone app has a product scanning feature that lets users populate a shopping list before discarding packaging at home.
“No need to try to type or remember product names,” said Danny Wegman in a corporate blog post. “Just scan the product barcode and add it straight to your list.”
Another new feature is a recipe finder that allows users to search by course, main ingredient or dietary preference and add ingredients to their shopping list with the tap of a finger. Shoppers asked for the enhanced functionality.
“We took every request that came in (all 950 comments) and designed version 2.0 straight from customer feedback. We kept all the things you love, like our recipes and product catalog, and added a few new features we’re really excited about,” said Wegman.
