ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A new children’s book called “Mommy, What Is Celiac Disease?” is available exclusively at Wegmans Food Markets through Dec. 31.

Carried in the Nature’s Marketplace section of the store, the book takes a positive look at a gluten-free diet while addressing common kid questions about the disease. It retails for $11.16

Author Katie Chalmers' inspiration for the book came in 2007 when both she and her daughter Morgan were diagnosed with celiac disease. Chalmers will sign copies of "Mommy, What Is Celiac Disease?" in select stores throughout Celiac Awareness Month of October.

Included in the book is a page that mentions Wegmans along with other products, brands and companies making life easier for the gluten intolerant.

Wegmans flags gluten-free foods with a "G" inside an orange circle and includes on its website tools and articles to help those living gluten-free.

“We continually hear from customers who appreciate our commitment to help make living gluten-free easier,” said Trish Kazacos, Wegmans corporate nutritionist, in a statement.
