WASHINGTON — Wegmans Food Markets has been named one of five finalists for the annual Corporate Stewardship Award by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce here.
The award will be given to a company “that understands the linkages between its operations and society, and conducts its business in a way that creates shared value: both economic and social progress over the long term,” the chamber said.
The winner will be selected by a committee chosen by the U.S. Chamber, and presented with the award at a ceremony here Dec. 1. Wegmans is based in Rochester, N.Y.
