ROCHESTER, N.Y. —Wegmans Food Markets yesterday began offering up to a 14-day supply of nine generic oral antibiotics at no cost, but with a Shoppers Club card.
Timed for cough-and-cold season, the program runs through March 31. There are no limits on the number of prescriptions that can be filled, and it includes both new prescriptions and refills.
“We understand the economic pressures families are facing, including the rising cost of health care, which is something I’m especially concerned about,” said Danny Wegman, chief executive officer. “We hope this program will help families better cope with those expenses.”
