ARLINGTON, Va. — The Women Grocers of America here has named the winners of its Woman of the Year Award and its Lifetime Achievement Award.
The Woman of the Year Award — which recognizes a woman whose leadership has contriuted to the success of her company — will go to Kathy Sweidel-Caton, vice president, customer services, with Gerland's Food Fair, Houston; and the Lifetime Achievement Award — which recognizes a woman whose loyalty and career have had a profound impact on the industry — will go to Mildred Stewart, a corporate accountant who has worked for Affiliated Foods Midwest, Norfolk, Neb., and its predecessor company, General Wholesale, since August 1942.
The awards will be presented during a general session at the National Grocers Association's annual convention in Las Vegas on Feb. 11.
