AUSTIN, Texas — A promotion from Whole Foods Market here is moving at a record-setting pace Tuesday on the daily deal site LivingSocial, which sold close to 790,000 "buy $20 worth of products for $10" deals as of late afternoon EST.

According to an AP report, the deal — LivingSocial's first nationwide grocery offer — went up at 5 a.m. EST and was scheduled to run until the same time Wednesday with a limit of 1 million deals. The promotion must be redeemed by Dec. 13. LivingSocial spokesman Andrew Weinstein was quoted as saying it is the site's fastest-selling offer ever.

Whole Foods plans to donate 5% of the sale price to its Whole Kids Foundation, which supports children's nutrition and wellness.

LivingSocial, based in Washington, D.C. is the second-largest daily deal company behind Groupon.
