AUSTIN, Texas — Whole Foods Market here is eyeing its first site in Scotland, according to local reports.
U.K. newspaper Herald Scotland said this week that the retailer was in “advanced negotiations” to take over a former Safeway store near Glasgow, which could become Whole Foods’ first in Scotland. The natural and organics chain expanded into London by acquiring the Fresh & Wild chain there in 2004.
A Whole Foods spokesman was not immediately available for comment to SN.
